a holliday in germany
i have been sleeping long :D
then we wathced the last movie of the hobbit, and i was knitting - no foto today, i just have no free space :(
and afterwards, about 10pm till saturday at 3 pm i was finishing the carding of my ole and pepe alpaka fleece
some batts had the 1st go already, some didnt - those i had to fluffing it up
make a rather fast batt, or 2 … and then devide it into 4 equal parts, and make the batts

from left to right :
overdyed with red, 100 gram
the palest parts of the fleeces, 105 gram
the medium coloured parts, 130 gram - this was also the colour i took away to dye red with
and finaly on the right, 150 gram of the darkes parts

30th of april

 

later on the sun came out, and was sitting outside, fluffing around the tops i dyed, sadly i am not good with dyeing
they are all very matted so will have to be carded, i pulled out 3 tops, a merino, a chubut and a leicester, all 3 with 21 mic
and 100 gram each
then i carded the alpaka, the fluffing up takes quite some time, but the carding is faster this way
but it will take a 2nd pass - still think it will be faster
and the colours of my locks make me scream in joy when i play with them :D
just wait till they are dry and i can lay them out to show all the prettyness :)

wednesday, 29th of april

 

bright sunshine, so i desided, its time to wash and dye my wensleydale locks
1 kilo and 1,5 kilo in grey, and 1 kilo black locks

sadly i forgot,. my man needed me to drive him to the mechanic who fixed his transporter
so i lost like … uhm … 2 hours
i still started dyeing, but just short after 8pm i realised, i dont have enough vinegar
so i had to stop in the middle of the chaos *grins*
i DID finish about half of the lot, and - well how could i expect it diffrent - it started raining
so the whole lot has to dry inside … yippie yeaaah

 

later i started to card the last nice alpaka i washed a few days back
its just 40 gram batts so far …
and the night was over … oooops … but … hey thats nothing new is it ?

28th of april

 

i was so tired on tuesday, soooo tired
which means, i didnt do much
i finished the 16th row on my shawl - was just a few more squares
i knitted again a tiny bit
looked through knitting patterns
and went back to bed very early

on monday the 27th of april

 

monday i got a new haircut and new dyed hair

then i sorted the last alpaka fleece i got to wash - from ole and pepe - and washed it

and i did a tiny bit of spinning, sadly the wind chilled up, so i had to go inside again rater soon
and knitted a few squares

an other sunny sunday - 26th of april

 

sunday we have been to simssee (in bavaria :) )
had a fantastic lunch, and the most stunning view

then we drove around the lake, to the other side, and had a look at one of the public beaches
its really soooo beautyfull there

i did some more entrelac knitting later in the afternoon, and in the evening and night i finished my grey fleece
i bought 3500 gram raw fleece, of an unknown, but soft, sheep, in grey
now i have 1230 gram combed top, still some lanolin left in it
as i plan to blend it with alpaka, to get enough for an afghan, i will have to wash it again, to get the rest lanolin out

but for now, thats it with the grey fleece :D
its stored away for now, and the next job is dragged out

25th of april

 

after a lot of days with not enough sleep
i did saturday just 1 thing - i slept !

24th of april

 

we were -again- at cafe pauli :D
the weather is just to wonderfull to not go out :D
i really love the view there, and the duckies are cute too :D

and i did some more combing, got now 750 gram
and a lot to go
and a new load of knitting needles arrived, i love them a lot, and cheap as hell, 9 euro shipping including, for the whole lot
