I was not really lazy

You remember when i told you i cant decide which fur to use ?
and how i cut 3 furs ?
well … those 3 furs are now close to be ready - for faces :)
the limbs are jointed and stuffed and closed
the heads are stuffed and mounted to the body and got the eyes.

Now i need to wait till the wool arrives … wool ? yeaaaa
i ordered 15 different shades of grey and brown mohair for felting :)
and when the wool arrives, i am hopefully ready to get the felting started.

On Tuesday i got a loooovely present from a dear friend, Richard Backschas, i show you further down what it was.
But this meant, i had to research about traditional teddy pattern.
So i looked at a lot of pictures, and made the first pattern.
Here is the bear - the first proto type :)
He is really small - just 24 cm - IF he could stand, which he cant… poor fellow

He is not really optimal yet, so i made a few changes to the pattern, and cut a grey sparse mohair … it is partly sewn, i was just so itching from the cut hair i had to stop for last night.
I already ordered some wood wool … it should arrive today or on Monday.

I don't know if it works out all right and usable or if it needs some more adjustments, but in case i need to make a version 3, i got some white sparse mohair :)
After this i should be ready … what for you ask … ohhh you will see … scroll down :)

Here it is … the present
Some so wonderful antique mohair !!
deep red wine the colour … i am drooling over this colour :)
This will be the final version of my traditional style teddy.
I cant wait to see him :)

  1. What a great post, I don't know where to begin there is so much. First the faceless little bears look adorable! Second I can not believe all the shades of wool you ordered! I hope you will show us when it arrives. Third, this mohair is really beautiful, your traditional teddy is going to be beautiful wearing it. The pattern looks great.
