BB part 2 …

 

Parts are cut
Face is placed
now i start to sew the face into place

some hours later :

now to the magnets in the hands

and later again :
this hair needs to be pulled out of the seams

and again a bit later
now … can you see a seam ?

it is not yet closed on the back

do you want the hair around the mouth cut off ?

the magnets are very very very weak
they hold … but just when you hold very carefully … do you want stronger ones ?

i might not be the best looking BB … but for sure i am the coolest looking BB :D

i would have been better with 4 parts, but as usually - your wish is what i do :P

The progress of BB

 

I got an order, a BB for a little girl.
I use Schulte cotton plush for the body, felt and suede for the eyes.
There will be magnets in the hands.
Some special fill material to make very soft when stuffed.

And now … lets begin the journey.

Teddy Special edition - Coinín

 

Hello friends, i am Coinín
this is Gaelic, and means “Little Wolf”.

The making of Coinín

 

This is the fur i have chosen.
it is a fashion faux fur. Very dark grey base - sparkling silvery tips … about 5 cm long hairs.

here i had already sewn all parts together, and cleared the hair from the future face.
2nd picture, the test, where to place the eyes.

some very early stage of felting the face.
This time i started with sculpting the eyes, before i did the snout.
This needs to be shaped now

One side felted already.

The face is sort of finished. just the ears are missing.

Now how do you like this hairstyle ? *laughs*
the 2nd picture is Coinín in the transport box … he is NOT assembled there - so the scissors are not stabbing his belly :D

This last Teddy did not work :(

 

i started with the reddish fur i showed you last post …
and cut out both Teddy straight away … sadly …
because the bigger one i started off with, i messed up toes and fingers … and no fluff left to remake them.

THIS will teach me, not to cut without having fluff left :(

and the backing is so stiff, i lack the motivation to start the smaller one.

So now i am sitting here, rather annoyed - and am thinking what i might be doing now.

Looking at 2 furs for new Teddy's

 

I was digging in my faux fur storage and dragged out 3 furs…
After staring at them for some time, i decided, i want to try my new designs a bit smaller then the 30 cm they are now.

So the choice are now this 2 lovely pieces.
the red one is 21 cm by 70 cm and got a 1 cm pile
the brown one is 42 cm by 70 cm and has 2 cm long hair.
I could easily make a 25 cm bear with the red fur … BUT :D
as the hair are so short - i am going to try a 20 cm bear AND a 15 cm Bear out of it.

I spent hours with gimp today to work out a layout plan for the red one.
first i did the 25 cm bear … so much waste - no no … no good :D
then the 20 cm bear … sooo much space left - can it be enough … and then i tried it … moving pieces around and back and forth and back again … and i worked out a way to fit those 2 bears onto the fur AND have it rather symmetric from the pattern on the fur … WOHO :D
now i JUST need to cut out the pattern pieces - and this time i need to work reversed …
Means i cut out the pieces, and lay the large paper with the holes in it onto the backing and trace the lines …

now you kind followers - cross your fingers and wish me luck - i really hope this works as i hope it does :)

Work on Blog and Homepage nearly finished

As you can see, i worked on the style of my blog and homepage.
The work is nearly done, just the side bars from my main blog need to be exported to the “storage” blogs - so you can see them there also. I will work on this in the next couple of days.

If you stumble over a bad mistake - please let me know.

And now have fun on my newly designed Place :)
